Brewdog Elvis Juice
The fourth Brewdog day of Christmas brings something called "Elvis Juice". I have no idea what to make of that.
Details
- Grapefruit Infused IPA 6.5% ABV
- 330ml can
From the website:
Our original 6.5% Elvis Juice recipe returns. This IPA has a caramel malt base, supporting a full frontal citrus overload - grapefruit piled on top of intense aroma hops. Waves of crashing pine, orange and grapefruit round out this citrus infused IPA.
Expectations
This sounds horrible. I don't like grapefruit. I do like IPA though, so maybe it will be fine and I'm going to be surprised.
Experience
It smells fruity, has a golden colour with smaller bubbles and a nice head on it. The smell reminds me of tinned fruit.
The taste is weird. I'm having trouble describing it. The alcohol content is quite high, and I can taste that. There is a fruity component and something that I can only describe as beer-like. The aftertaste reminds me of mince pies, Christmas cake or something like that.
Every sip is a confusing experience. I wouldn't say it tastes bad, just not like beer. Or anything else, really.
Verdict
2/5 : Just weird. I don't like it.
