Cottage Delight Stuffed Turkey
The last of these Christmas beers, another light ale. The first three beers were quite festive, so let's hope the fourth keeps the yuletide spirit going too.
Details
- Crisp light ale, 4.5% ABV
- 500ml bottle
From the bottle:
A refreshingly crisp ale with a sharp, citrus finish.
Expectations
I've not had this before and I'm not sure what to expect. I quite like the sound of a crisp ale though, so it could be good.
Experience
This surprised me. After the huge foamy head on the last one I was expecting something like that, but there is barely any head on this one. It actually looks like cider, though maybe a bit paler, less yellow.
The smell is yeasty, though not very strong. The taste is pretty good, and sharp is a fairly good description. It reminds me of a dry cider, though not any one brand in particular. I'm not getting any citrus, but I'm not getting apple either so it isn't just cider that's been bunged in the wrong bottle.
By the end I did detect a bit of citrus, though it was very mild. It went down well and was quite refreshing.
Verdict
4/5 : I like it. It's like a beer pretending to be a cider, and as weird as that sounds it works well.
