Dab Dortmunder Export
This is not one I have drunk before, and to be honest I don't think I have even heard of it before. It says "Since 1868" on the can though, so it has been around longer than I have.
Details
- Lager 5% ABV
- 500ml can
From the website:
A pale, bottom-fermented blond lager. It is a harmoniously balanced, crisp and easy-to-drink beer with pleasing notes of hops and malt. A very well-rounded taste profile with a soft and elegant texture.
Expectations
I have no idea. It's a classic German lager though, so it should be good. I don't know what "bottom-fermented" means and I'm not sure I want to know.
Experience
It looks like lager. The smell reminds me of lager. There are a lot of bubbles rising rapidly to join the head, which isn't very thick but quite stable.
The taste is pleasant, not strong, almost sweet. After a few more sips I got a slightly citrus taste, but nothing really significant.
I'm not a huge fan of lager, and to me this is not the most interesting beer ever. This is not the most interesting review ever either. There is nothing wrong with Dab Dortmunder Export though, and I would happily drink it again.
Verdict
3/5 : It's lager. It tastes like lager. If you want lager, this does the job.
