Freedom Premium Lager
Yet more lager - but this one is multi-award winning according to the blurb. I am discovering that lagers I have never heard of before taste better than those that I have seen on the supermarket shelves for years, so confidence is quite high with this one.

From the website:
Cold. Crisp. Refreshing.
First brewed in 1995, our multi-award winning Premium British Lager is crisp, bright and utterly refreshing. Uniquely cold matured for 6 weeks to allow the natural carbonation to develop, we only ever use 100% British ingredients to deliver the perfect beer that’s born and raised in Britain!
Expectations
It's lager again, so it could be good or bad. I'm hoping for a good one this time. "Award winning" is a good sign, so I'm quite hopeful.
Experience
It's very pale yellow, with large bubbles on the inner surface of the glass and tiny bubbles rising through the beer. It smells a bit yeasty, but it isn't a strong smell at all.
The taste is bitter and slightly sweet. I don't get any fruity elements to it, just a simple, straightforward lager taste. Some people might find it boring, but to me this is refreshingly honest.
There is a slight malty aftertaste as well. I like it.
Verdict
4/5 : Easy to drink, quite tasty no-nonsense lager.
